About Jon Gulick Racing Engines
Jon Gulick has been building racing engines since 1980, starting with Bracket and Quick 16 Drag Cars and Dragsters. Gulick fielded a blown Alcohol Dragster (Quick 16/Top Sportsman) with co-driver Bill Meadows from 1986-1988. Jon and Bill along with Jeff Miller also fielded a blown alcohol 1969 Camaro and were known as Badd SS Racing. They ran Super Chevy, NMCA & NSCA organizations over a 4 year period from 1996-1999. They won 5 championships; 3 Super Chevy, 1 NSCA and 1 NMCA in Pro Street Outlaw.
Jon has also worked part time with and for Lee Edwards since 1979. Jon has the distinction also of tuning Kevin McCurdy`s 2000 Blown Alcohol Firebird Trans Am to the 2006 NOPI/NDRA Pro Compact Class Championship with a best ET of 6.48 @ 218 MPH.
Jon Gulick has built engines for Temple Brizendine`s Footloose and Bill Giesler`s Agitator Pro Modified 4 Wheel Drive trucks and in 2002 Temple Brizendine was the East Coast Champion and Bill Giesler was Runner-up. In 2005 Jon built and tuned the 572 cu. in. Ford Hemi of Jeff Eshelman and Dan Wilson`s Boss Hawg Modified 2 Wheel Drive truck to the East Coast Points Championship. More recently, Jon had a stellar year in 2006. Not only did he tune the Eshelman/Wilson 2 Wheel Drive truck to it`s 2nd consecutive East Coast Championship, he also built and tuned the Family Tradition Pro Modified 4 Wheel Drive truck of Mikey & Buster Campbell to it`s first East Coast Championship. Jon also built and tuned the 572 cu. in. Alan Johnson Olds of Charlie & Brian Nicholson`s Scrapper Modified 2 Wheel Drive truck which was Runner-up in the Modified 2 Wheel Drive class for 2006.
Jon has built winning Modified 4 Wheel Drive engines for the following: Bill Colvin, Carroll Shipp, Leon Nixon, Lynn Trueblood and more coming out soon. Jon has also built engines for some Dragon Motorsports trucks such as: Bill Colvin and Jerry Young.
